Our Mission

Circuit Arts Festival | 1-10 oct 2021

Circuit Arts Festival is a ten-day transdisciplinary art festival, inviting you to rediscover Galway City in new and unexpected ways, supported by The Arts Council and Galway City Council.

As agents of change, artists play a major role in shaping a nation over time. Centering around the 126 Gallery’s ‘Meaningful / Encounters‘ theme, Circuit will spark meaningful conversations about the role of culture among the wider public at a time of precarity and change. Circuit seeks to support Galway’s cultural ecology by weaving work by artists across the island into the fabric of everyday life in Galway City—through chance encounters, exhibitions, public murals and much more. The festival offers artists paid opportunities to publicly showcase their work at a time when such resources are difficult to access.

Responding to the challenges of the pandemic and beyond, Circuit will reimagine vacant spaces—everything from blank walls to shop windows—as pop-up venues along a festival trail, highlighting local businesses along the way. Visitors can look forward to music, poetry, performance and workshops, all socially-distanced and adherent to HSE health and safety guidelines. Join us in celebrating the resilience of creativity in Ireland, as we pull together to create wonder and community in uncertainty.
